Faegre & Benson LLP

The Challenge:

This law firm wanted to create an updated look for its offices.  Faegre & Benson already owned artwork and wanted McGrath & Braun to provide new pieces that would complement its new offices and the existing art collection.

The Solution:

McGrath & Braun assessed the artwork and decided which pieces to retain and added new art to create a cohesive collection. New pedestal bronze sculptures, rich landscape paintings and three-dimensional wall art were chosen to augment the new Faegre & Benson art collection.

Koelbel & Company

The Challenge:

Koelbel and Company has developed some of Colorado’s most remarkable residential and recreational communities. When the firm moved to new headquarters in 2002, the company’s president Buz Koelbel asked McGrath & Braun to select art reflecting the Colorado’s course of development from the open prairie to present-day development.

The Solution:

Oils, watercolors, sculptures, sand paintings and artifacts were chosen to reflect the client-selected theme of “Under All Lies the Land.” Pieces from company founder Walt Koelbel’s own collection were integrated into the larger exhibit and a signature work, “Hopeful Hearts” by Colorado artist Tom Scarborough was commissioned for the soaring front lobby.

Invesco

The Challenge:

INVESCO’s corporate headquarters occupies two buildings that encompass 500,000 square-feet. Because the buildings are contemporary in styling with high-tech design elements, the executive team sought a broad range of art that would warm the environment and showcase Colorado creativity. The goal was visual comfort for guests and employees.

The Solution:

McGrath & Braun selected a variety of media—etchings, glass, bronze, textiles, watercolor, paintings, woven paper and posters. Eleven of the 91 pieces are site-specific, commissioned works. The results earned high praise from Chairman/CEO Mark H. Williamson, who said, “I want you to know how much we have enjoyed the art pieces you helped us select. It was great fun working with you to pull this collection together.”

Townsend and Townsend and Crew, L.L.P.

The Challenge:

This patent law firm had named all of its conference rooms after famous inventors. In keeping with the themes, Townsend, Townsend and Crew wanted its artwork to reflect the inventors’ unique and extraordinary visions.

The Solution:

McGrath & Braun commissioned artwork by a number of local artists whose input and creativity was successfully translated into the many pieces placed in the conference rooms. Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, and the Wright Brothers were among the inventors that inspired the artists to create diverse and unique pieces.
